The IX International Congress on Medical and Applied Malacology will convene from Oct. 17 to 20 in Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province.

    The conference will be jointly organized by the Chinese Society of Malacology, China Zoological Society, Chinese Society for Oceanology and Limnology, the CAS Institute of Oceanology, and the International Society for Medical and Applied Malacology.

    The meeting will bring together specialists from across the world in the fields of medical, applied and basic malacology to present the latest results of research in malacology science, focusing on the development of basic and applied malacology of mollusks of medical, veterinary, mariculture and their general economic importance.
