The Barbara Turnbull Foundation, NeuroScience Canada and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) award the 2006 Barbara Turnbull Award for Spinal Cord Research to Dr. Pierre Drapeau at the Universite de Montreal. Dr. Drapeau is receiving this award for his work studying the development of the spinal cord using the zebrafish embryo, a unique and leading model for vertebrate development and genetics. This award is one of the highest distinctions for spinal cord research in Canada.
