自古以来人们就幻想像鸟儿一样飞行，但是最后真正飞上天空的是原理差异颇大的飞机——因为，鸟儿和其他动物的飞行，比我们以为的更复杂。

依兰诺·鲁兹（Eleanor Lutz）拥有一个生物学学位，曾经在实验室里教蚊子走迷宫，利用Matlab绘制蚊子的行动轨迹。后来她成为了一个艺术家，用类似的技术来绘制动物飞行时翅膀的扇动。
